New Sermon Series – Psalmscapes

The Book of Psalms remains one of the most treasured sections of Scripture.  No other portion of the Bible has provided God’s people with a more favored resource of hope, encouragement, strength, and faith than the ancient Hebrew poetry of the Psalms.  They are rich with promise, insight, Godly wisdom and reflect the life experiences of people like King David whose pen authored many of these inspired words.  Many of them were put to music and shared in the expressions of ancient Jewish worship to remind God’s people of His abiding presence, provision, protection, leadership and deliverance.

Many of the programs encouraged today for reading the Bible through in a year will engage us to study an Old Testament passage, a New Testament passage, a section of Proverbs and a reading in the Psalms. We find their insights posted on cards, banners, marguees, in social media and recited at many ceremonies, eulogies and other meetings of worship.  The rich treasure contained in the Psalms never grows old, never gets out-of-date and never fails to encourage & strengthen the reader.

Our series will focus on selected chapters and sections of the many Psalms and enable us to glean from their knowledge, wisdom & truth.  We will see how portions of the Psalms serve as foundational spring boards to other Biblical themes, especially those related to Christmas, New Years, and Easter.  We trust you will join us weekly as we journey passionately through the Psalms during this Sunday morning sermon series.
